Perebutan gelar juara dunia yang ditentukan di seri terakhir tidak hanya terjadi di kelas MotoGP saja, tapi juga di kelas Moto3.
Maverick Vinales yang sebelumnya berada di peringkat kedua klasemen sementara pembalap keluar sebagai juara dunia Moto3 setelah menjuarai GP Valencia. Sementara pesaing terdekatnya Luis Salom harus puas terlempar menjadi peringkat ketiga klasemen akhir pembalap setelah hanya finis ke-14. Sementara, juara dunia kelas Moto2 diraih oleh Pol Espargaro yang mengumpulkan 265 poin.
